Atefeh Riazi – Board Chairperson

Atefeh (Atti) Riazi is a senior executive and a philanthropist. She has served in both the public and the private sector as a CIO managing large scale Technology projects and initiatives. The Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed Atefeh Riazi as the new Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Information Technology Officer for the United Nations, with the responsibility for all substantive and operational needs of the world body relating to information and communications technology (ICT).
She was the Executive Vice President of The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and also serves as the Executive Director of CIOs Without Borders. Atti has held the Acting General Manager position of NYCHA responsible for a $3B organization with over 12,000 employees. In her role as the Vice President and CIO of Technology for the MTA, New York City Transit, she was responsible for implementing the $2B MetroCard in New York City.
Atti has served as the global CIO of Ogilvy & Mather for over 9 years overseeing all technology with full responsibility across 400 offices in 100 countries. Atti has published many articles and studies. She speaks frequently on issues involving technology, organizations and work. She has delivered keynote addresses and seminars globally and serves on the Board of major financial & marketing organizations.
