Performing Arts: Music & Drama
At Bridges, the arts inspire students to build confidence and creativity through chorus, band, seasonal concerts, drama productions, and cultural performances led by dedicated music and theater programs.

-
Music Program: All students sing in chorus, while Bridge and Middle Schoolers can also join band. With two full-time certified teachers, students learn music theory, composition, vocals, and instruments. Seasonal concerts and NYSSMA opportunities showcase their talents.
-
Drama Program: Two major productions each year give K–8 students a chance to shine—onstage or behind the scenes. Past shows include Fiddler on the Roof, The Lion King, and Aladdin. Students also perform in cultural celebrations and community events.

Bridges in the Community

Community outreach is central to who we are. Students participate in service initiatives, partnering with local organizations to give back, build empathy, and put values into action. Whether it’s fundraising, volunteering, or neighborhood projects, Bridges students learn that their contributions matter.
Community Outreach Events
-
Silly Socks - Students and staff may wear silly socks in March and will be asked to donate a pair of new socks to a local shelter.
-
Valentine’s Day Cards - The Bridges students made cards for the residents at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in West Islip.
-
P.S. I Love You Day, Inc.- The Parents’ Association organized a fundraiser to support the local organization PS. I Love You Day, Inc. with a $5 donation for a dress down day for the students on Valentine’s Day and raffle off three kindness baskets to our families and the community which focused on positive mental health. We also did relationship building activities with our students.
-
Giving Tree - The Bridges Academy families donated wrapped gifts for families in need and the names were provided through the Good Samaritan Hospital’s Pediatric Unit. The staff and families were very appreciative of our generosity.
-
Long Island Cares Food Drive - The Bridges Academy community collected almost two tons of food, (1,930 pounds) for the Long Island Cares, Inc. food drive during the month of November! Amazing!
-
North Babylon Food Pantry - Students, staff, and Bridges Families collect food donations for the local food pantry.
-
Veterans Day Cards and Event - The Bridges Academy’s ECC-8th grade students sent cards and letters to the veterans at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook. We also had a Veterans Day Event in front of the school to honor our veterans which included our scouts, student council, and a presentation under the direction of Mr. Hadgeoff and Mrs. Ciemnecki, with our lower grade students singing a few songs to the staff, students, and the veterans that attended.
